    2020 Challenge for SpineAid – Run 48.9m, cycle 182.6m, swim 2.5m

I ask you all to dig deep and help us support the fantastic work SpineAid is doing in India. Each year a team of specialist surgeons from the US and UK give their time and money to help children with spinal deformities. The team have performed an average of 15 complex surgeries per visit since the group started in 2015.

In 2020, I have decided to help this great cause by undertaking five challenges with an aim to raise a total of £5000. Why £5000 you ask; each complex surgery can be performed in India for £1000 each, including extensive pre and post-operative care. Therefore, my aim is to help raise enough to change the lives of 5 patients.

To do this I will be running a half marathon, cycling from London to Brighton, completing an ultra- duathlon and triathlon and finally closing with a half iron man before the end of 2020. The task is huge, but so is what we are asking from all of you.

Many patients are young children and adults suffering with severe scoliosis, a crippling disease. For those in the remote locations in north India, it limits their quality of life and any chance of gaining the same opportunities available to their family and friends. The work of SpineAid is to give those individuals the chance to seize those same opportunities and achieve happiness.

I ask you to join me on this journey and to help as much as possible, contributing following the completion of each event. There will be regular updates on this page followed with snippets of the fun events in between.
